Not far through the orchard that sits beside our property is a small creek of water that my children affectionally call "Kids Creek". By the creek is also a fairly steep hillside that drops down into a ravine filled with wild cherry trees and wildflowers. They kids often gather up the season offerings from Kids Creek and bring them back to me, the stems held tightly in their little hands, eager to share their findings (Georgia has gotten fairly good at putting together a bouquet). Purple and yellow drench the hillsides this time of year - wild lupine and balsam root a particularly telling find of our region. I want to remember these bouquets, offered with such joy and eagerness.
