The very last of my garden roses for the season was a small collection of burgundy and yellow - two of my very favorite colors for roses. As an intense flower and vegetable gardener, we can often move through the masses of planting and harvests without taking the deep breaths and paused moments that it takes to appreciate something as beautiful as these roses. The images I create are an opportunity to redeem the hustle and briskness of my work in the gardens. I could stare into the eye of these roses and never once tire of their perfection.
